I took my Honda mower to this company for an estimate to repair or renew a faulty clutch l was given a vague description of what might be wrong with it and was asked for a £40 fee for investigation work and was told l would also benefit from having the blade sharpened, a new drive belt fitted and a new spark plug, l was told l would receive an estimate in three days but after six days l still had no reply.
I rang the company and was told someone would contact me the same day to let me know what was happening, unfortunately l didn’t receive the call
So l called again the next day and got no answer so l left a message to reply to my call which I didn’t get,
So today Monday 21st March l rang again to be told that my mower needed a new gearbox and clutch which would cost about £300 plus fitting , when l originally took the mower in l was told it would be about £150 plus fitting, so l went to the workshop to fetch my mower back and was told they couldn’t get the parts and l might as well scrap it and buy a new one. Upon leaving l rang a very reputable company Henton and chattel to see if they stocked the spares l needed which they did so l went and picked up a new gearbox with clutch, a new cutting blade and servicing items which totalled £197.00.
A friend who is a retired mechanical engineer fitted the parts for me this afternoon and the scrap mower is now good for the foreseeable future.
The moral of this saga is, be very careful who you take your mower to for repair

Reliable family business. Not only your equipment is in good hands and thoroughly checked but you can also enjoy an interesting friendly chat with the owner. Additionally you can have useful advice about taking care of your lawn. I strongly recommend.

Well what can I say or where do I start...
Basically I wanted to get my father's petrol mountfield lawn mower from the 80's back into action but it just did not want to play.
I tried a big mower repair company in colwick who did not even want to look at it. After pleading with them a bit they took it off me but just said parts are discontinued, to which I asked if a new engine would fit. Again they were not really intrested.
I then tried another place and they were not intrested and I was beginning to give up now.
Then someone mentioned these guys and from the moment I got there you realise if these guys (father and son) cannot repair your mower then nobody can. After a lengthy chat you get the impression that your mower is in safe hands.
They seriously know their stuff and unbelievably all self taught from what I understand. They are the type of guys that when they were kids just dismantled things and re-build them.
Absolutely amazing chaps and I will recommend them to everyone now and continue to let them now service my mower after they got my sentimental mower going again.
110% recommended
Thank-you so much:)

Unfortunately, after continually attempting a resolution of an overpayment made to cutting edge mowers in September 2018, and being ignored by its proprietor, I feel I have no choice but to post a comment here to make others aware of the situation. After waiting for 5 months, and after reassurances that the overpayment would be refunded, and after two emails not replied to I can only imagine that I am being ignored. This is most unfortunate. Nevertheless, the proprietor has my telephone number, my email address and my home address and yet has failed to contact me or repay monies owed. Clearly the intention is not to repay me. Therefore, I leave this as a caveat emptor to any one who may wish to avoid this company, given my quite shocking and saddening experience with them.

Really professional. Doesn’t look much, but they are really good. Wouldn’t take ours anywhere else.
